Remember To Love Yourself!! 🌻
14:44I've just watched this video and I'm typing my thoughts while they're still fresh in my head. It was about a supermodel I think? and she was explaining that she read a story about a girl who lived a few century's ago and she didn't know what media was, or what the pressure to be 'perfect' was and because of this, she always saw and believed that she was beautiful. her mother told her she beautiful a lot while she was growing up and this obviously helped her confidence. she lived her life not worrying about what anyone thought about her looks because nobody knew anything other than beauty. no make up, just natural looks. - I wish we could go back to this because the pressure to be perfect and the fight for perfection is a joke. so many girls (and guys) struggle with confidence because they are constantly comparing themselves to someone else. Wouldn't it be good if everyone could be confident in their own skin know matter what they look like, or what size they are? I HATE that the media promote so much beauty products with models that are constantly on your tv, in magazines, advertisements on the radio etc. In this day and age, children as young as 2 (from personal experience) know what 'fat' is and that's shocking. I blame society because this has made people aware and these children have heard others use that word. I wish everyone would stop fighting for perfection and except and embrace who they are. Eating disorders have become more known and mental health have risen in the last few years. People wake up feeling suicidal because they don't want to face the world threating that they are 'ugly'. Even some employers these days go off your looks and would rather give a job to someone who looks all 'glammed up' to another person (with probably better qualifications) the job. What does that teach us? you have to dress to impress? what about your children when they grow up? do you want them to be constantly stressing and unhappy with their looks that they consider plastic surgery to try and 'fix' a facial feature? it doesn't make them unique anymore, it doesn't make them them. If you had a hump on your nose due to it being hereditary then you embrace that honey because that makes you YOU. you're special and you should accept that you're beautiful without having to apply cosmetics before you leave the house. before opening the door to the postman. Who cares if you wasn't born as Kate Moss or whichever fashion icon you like. remember they wasn't born that way either, they're covered in makeup to sell brands, they are made to look a certain a way. I bet it's messed with their insecurities too because they know once all that comes off they're not the same person that everyone sees.
